Classic Car Engagement Photos | Shell Beach, CA
A very California engagement session
Complete with a classic car and a very golden sunset. It was the perfect Central Coast night for Ava and David’s engagement photos, and we took full advantage. We are always encouraging our couples to incorporate some elements of themselves in their engagement photos, to help them feel more natural and to feel unique! And so, Ava and David chose to bring their classic convertible along for the ride.
We chose Shell Beach, the little stretch of coastline between Avila and Pismo, as the location, for a blend of action shots with the car, and some more beachy photos too. Shell Beach Road made for the perfect street to cruise up and down, allowing Joseph and I to take some action shots of Ava and David driving, and also giving us the chance to park the car and take some more posed photographs with it!
We then headed down to the beach for some more classic Poppy and Vine engagement photos— think lots of movement and laughter and very candid nature! (If you’ve ever done a session with us, you’ll remember that it often feels more like cardio than anything 😉). A darker, more cinematic edit felt just right for these photos, to me, perfectly syncing with the loose, care free nature of the evening and this session.
We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work with couples who feel like friends to us! If it looks like we were all absolutely cracking up this entire session, it’s because we genuinely were. I took Ava’s graduation photos a few years ago, and we photographed David’s sister’s wedding earlier this year, and we feel honored to be brought back to document this season for Ava and David as well.
