These very feelings are the ones that have shaped our approach to wedding photography— a process built on the foundation of developing trust with each other, and then using that knowledge and trust to document wedding days as they are. No performance necessary. We are deeply drawn to the beauty that is the humanity of a wedding day. We are inspired by the full spectrum of emotions, the relationships between you and your people, and the very unique love story you and your partner share. We fall into the category of “documentary wedding photographer,” and aim to constantly refine just what that means as we grow as artists.

We love nothing more than to travel near and far to capture our favorite thing, marriage.
Poppy and Vine exists to capture the most authentic moments that create your most beloved memories! Posed and forced photos are not our style.
Our passion for photography stems from our love for people. Above everything, we value digging deep and getting to know people intimately: what makes them unique, their raw, no-filter story, and all the beautiful, candid, messy emotion that comes with it.
When we’re behind the lens, we like to make that genuine emotion come alive, creating timeless galleries that you are able to pass along as an heirloom, because they evoke exactly what it felt like to be there on your best day.
When we are with our couples, we exist to serve, not to get photos that will make our Instagram look better or get us published on a fancy blog. We want you to trust us from the beginning, and our ultimate goal is to make you feel seen, loved, and cared for throughout the entire wedding experience! You aren’t just another engaged couple, and our biggest priority is to treat you that way!
We photograph elopements and traditional weddings anywhere you’d like us, and accept an additional, limited number of couple and family sessions every year in San Luis Obispo.

We are SO grateful to have had Katie & Joseph as a part of our wedding team. We were lucky enough to meet them at another friend’s wedding, and quickly booked them to shoot ours the following year.
