Meg & Lochlan went back to their relationship’s roots for their rustic spring wedding.

They intentionally planned to get married at the very place their relationship began: the ranch Lochlan grew up on right outside of San Luis Obispo, where the two met, five years to the day after they began dating. Their day reflected who they are and the unique little parts of their relationship perfectly. No detail was left untouched- everything had a personal touch to it and truly fit right into the story these two have been writing with their relationship for years.

These two met at Farm Supply when Meg was returning from one of her breaks at Cal Poly and stopped by to pick up feed for her horses (you might remember their horseback engagement session a few months ago!). Both Meg & Lochlan describe their meeting as the closest thing to love at first sight, and after spending a few months getting to know each other, they began dating on one of the hills at the ranch that overlooks the ocean below.

Meg & Lochlan’s day began spending the morning with their closest gals & guys, respectively. Meg and her bridesmaids got ready at a beautiful AirBnb in Pismo Beach. The gals spent the morning hanging out and, of course, popping champagne at the AirBnb’s spacious front lawn. Lochlan’s morning began much like most mornings of his childhood-with ranch work, this time transforming the rustic barn into the perfect setting for the two to exchange vows.

A bright, spring-inspired blue and yellow color scheme was incorporated throughout the day. Bright sunflowers provided a happy vibe to the day and decorated everything from the bouquets to Meg’s horse, Bugs. That joyful touch tied into the absolute joy of the entire day! In the words of Meg & Lochlan’s incredible DJ, this day was more than just a celebration of two lives coming together, but was the first time in over a year people actually were able to see each other, to hug, to love on one another, to celebrate, to dance, to be people. It was so, so beautiful.

Before the ceremony, Meg shared a super emotional first look with her best friend, her father, before she rode her horse down the aisle to Lochlan. Lochlan’s sister officiated the wedding, providing many sweet, nostalgic anecdotes of the years of life she shared with both Meg & Lochlan. Perhaps the best part of the day was the two’s vows. Unknowingly, Meg & Lochlan wrote eerily similar vows, both including the same quote Meg’s mother always instilled in her, and playing on the theme of Lochlan’s project car hobbies. Let me be the first to tell you these sweet, personal vows left not one eye dry in front of that barn.

Meg & Lochlan’s reception was absolutely electric. Guests buzzed with excitement over the two’s new marriage and the opportunity to be around real life humans again. The evening began with Meg & Lochlan showering their parents and bridal party with all the love, honoring all the influence these important people had on their lives and in getting them to this point (keep scrolling to see the emotion, gah I love it!!!). The toasts from their maid of honor, best man, fathers, and Lochlan’s boss who witnessed these two meeting for the first time, were equally as touching. I’ve never seen a room full of so much laughter and happy tears at the same time.

Meg & her father took a super sweet, unique approach to their father-daughter dance, dancing to the song he sang her every night of her childhood as she fell asleep (queue more tears). Special dances and cake cutting kicked off the vibrant evening of dancing. These people (us included) were so excited to let loose for the first time in forever and celebrate these two, and their DJ provided the perfect atmosphere for just that!

As night set in, that iconic springtime coastal fogged rolled over San Luis Obispo, transforming the rolling green hills of the ranch into something that looked straight out of Scotland, setting the stage for the most beautiful, moody bride & groom portrait session. The freezing wind didn’t stop us from having a grand ol’ time cruising the hills in one of the ranch gators with our literal entire team in tow, and we had more dancing to look forward to back in the barn to warm up!

The evening concluded with a grand sparkler exit, before Meg & Lochlan drove off into forever in one of his iconic project Toyotas. This was truly the most beautiful, rustic, slightly country, electric wedding days we’ve ever been a part of, and we are so excited to give you a little peek into what Meg & Lochlan’s day looked like!!
