Johnson Ranch Anniversary Session | Priscilla & Sebastian
There is something so unique about shooting anniversary sessions. We are already learning how uniquely two people grow together over the course of being married, whether it’s six days or sixty years. Life throws some absolutely crazy things at us all, and who you’re walking through it with certainly determines how you fare the course, and even more shapes the relationship you have with that person.
We initially had the opportunity to photograph Priscilla and Sebastian’s engagement session in February, 2019, followed by being a part of their wedding celebration, and then most recently helping them celebrate their first anniversary together. It is truly a gift to be able to witness the growth of not only two people we hold close to us as individuals, but to watch how they progress through life’s ups and downs together.
P&S’ first year was anything but easy. I asked Priscilla candidly one day when she felt their “honeymoon phase” ended, and she told me they barely had the opportunity to have one. Between major changes in their work and personal lives and coronavirus, Priscilla & Sebastian had been relying on each other for so much since almost day one.
We thought their relationship was strong and in total pursuit of God when they first got married, and it is amazing to look at how they are now. Through all the past year has handed these two, they have emerged with total grace and positivity. They are strong, patient, the kind of people you go to when you need a sound mind to process with. These two light up every room they walk into, and so willingly walk with others through the highs and lows of life. Best yet, these two love each other with a gentle kindness while simultaneously providing that best friendship that makes their bond tremendously unbreakable.
