We are alllll about the unique weddings here at Poppy & Vine, so when Depeche contacted me about her wedding that was slated to be on a boat in the middle of Morro Bay, we said HECK YES!!! After booking us, she let us in on the decor: pink sparkly tropical goodness and we were stoked on the fact that this wasn’t gonna be like any other wedding we’d ever seen, and we were HERE FOR IT!!

Tom & Depeche have quite a story. They were actually married four years before this day in a small ceremony, and their big wedding party kept getting pushed back due to a number of hurdles. That time brought highs and lows for them, but deepened their love for one another on such a unique level. By the time we reached this day, nothing, not even COVID, was going to stop them from celebrating their day.

Their original plans to be married at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas were changed, so they decided to decorate the little boat sailing around Morro Bay like the Flamingo. Shades of sparkly rose gold and bright pink transformed the space into a vibrant atmosphere, while touches of tropical plants and little flamingos sprinkled around the centerpieces and favors tied the look together. Depeche even walked to Tom on an aisle of rose gold sequins. She put deep thought into each piece of decor, and it proved successful, brightening the June Gloom in Morro Bay!

Their ceremony featured a blend of blessings from both a Christian and Catholic pastor, and was followed by a reception full of touching moments. Depeche prepared a song for Tom, and after the two shared their first dance to Impossible by Perro Como. As the sun set over Morro Bay, the guests on board enjoyed dinner, dancing, and the most delicious dessert spread of cupcakes and flamingo cookies.

We are so grateful for such a unique experience and look forward to many more boat weddings in Morro Bay in our future!
