The Ultimate Downtown SLO Wedding Day—
Ava and David are some of the most fun and goofy people we’ve ever met, and so it made the most sense to us, when they inquired about wedding photography, that they were hoping to spend their wedding day in a very no-frills type of way. And so they planned a wedding that was very them, and very stress free. And we got to come along for the ride, hitting multiple locations in Downtown San Luis Obispo over the course of the day.
Ava and David wanted an intimate ceremony, surrounded only by their immediate family members, and wedding party. We gathered in a close friend’s backyard for a morning ceremony, complete with a mimosa bar and breakfast snacks! There was laughter as final preparations were made and family reunited. The ceremony featured a butterfly release and private vows that had literally everyone alternating between crying and laughing. Ava and David were pronounced husband and wife, and after some mingling and champagne, we were off (in the classic car you might remember from their engagement session) to part two of the day!
Wanting to incorporate their much-loved extended family and friends, Ava and David chose to move the party along to Dallidet Adobe and Gardens, also in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Before guests arrived, we frolicked around in the whimsical, fairy like wonderland that is these gardens with the newlyweds. And then the party really got started! Guests enjoyed and extended cocktail hour before sitting down for a pizza dinner by Torricella. Toasts by closest family and friends, as well as a full original rap by David’s best man were shared, and then we moved the party along for part three!
Part three is the part where we put our cameras down and entered guest mode. We are really grateful for the couples we meet through this job, who stay in touch with us throughout the process, and ultimately become our friends by the end of it. Ava and David were sweet enough to invite us to their after party at Hotel Cerro in Downtown SLO as guests, perhaps our favorite role at the end of a beautiful wedding day 🥲.
