Ragged Point Inn Wedding | Kate & Daniel
When you spend your life traveling the world, it’s almost a given you’ll have a destination wedding, right?
Kate and Daniel have been to just about every corner of the globe, whether they’ve spent a season of their lives living there or went to check off yet another bucket list destination. In fact, upon falling in love, Daniel promised Kate he’d help fulfill her goal of seeing every continent before she turned 30 (they checked off the last box, Australia, on their honeymoon!). After visiting and getting engaged on the California Coast in Mendocino, Kate & Daniel decided the most perfect location for their upcoming wedding would be the oceanfront Ragged Point Inn in Big Sur, and so they began planning.
Their initial inquiry turned us on to their traveling lifestyle, and mentioned one very important thing- they were in search of photographers who would fit right in with their rowdy group of friends and family (insert gif of Joseph and me slyly looking at each other, rubbing our hands together, ripe and ready for a good time here). And so Fourth of July weekend came, and we very excitedly drove up the coast to Kate & Daniel’s Big Sur wedding to join their circle of people who travelled near and far to celebrate them.
If you know anything about Big Sur in the summer, you would know it’s usually tremendously overcast. However, as we made our way to Ragged Point, there were absolutely no clouds in sight. Instead, we got a perfectly picturesque sunny day- the ocean was a shade of turquoise I’ve never seen before, and the rugged cliffs of Big Sur were on full display, much to the liking of Kate, Daniel, and their people, most of whom were visiting for the very first time!
The stunning views from Ragged Point were perfectly accented by bright yellow and white florals by Lexi from In Full Bloom (our favorite florist in San Luis Obispo!). Kate & Daniel exchanged vows at Ragged Point’s oceanfront spot, with everyone they love before them, and the tall cliffs of Big Sur behind them. After the ceremony, the party truly began as the sun set over the Pacific. Kate & Daniel entered their reception and kicked off a night full of laughter, nonstop dancing, and one of the most vibrant sunsets to light up the coastal pines native to Big Sur. The marine layer never rolled in, and a sky full of stars capped off this party of a wedding in beautiful Big Sur!
