Oak and Ivy Wedding | Paso Robles, CA

A Christ-centered wedding in the middle of the Paso Robles vineyards—

We are so grateful for Rayvin and Tony for flying us out to the Central Coast of California for their gorgeous mid-summer wedding! This was our first time capturing a wedding day at Oak + Ivy at Home Sweet Home, and we hope to be back for many, many more weddings. As you’ll see from the photos, this gorgeous venue is a lush oasis nestled in the many acres of vineyards that make Paso Robles a wine destination. Greenery is very in for weddings at the moment, and this venue nails that look perfectly, from the oak trees and lush ivy (where the venue gets its name!), and rows of palm trees that make it look very California.

We began Rayvin and Tony’s day in the respective bridal and groomsmen’s cottages on the property. We left a ton of time for getting ready, as Rayvin and Tony wanted to prioritize the time they spent with their closest family and friends, and take things slowly. These two have worked in the wedding industry for years, and know how rushed things can get on a wedding morning if you don’t plan ahead, and I am so glad they prioritized slow intentionality before all the big events of their wedding day began. Once Rayvin and Tony were fully ready, we headed outside onto the Ivy House’s porch where they exchanged gifts and had their first touch instead of a first look. They ended this sweet moment by praying over the rest of their day and their marriage. This was the perfect, slow start to their wedding day!

We headed over to Oak + Ivy’s idyllic wedding ceremony space, under the sprawling oak trees Paso Robles is so known for. The late afternoon sun shone through the trees in that gorgeous, buttery backlit way that set the most picturesque scene for Rayvin and Tony to be married. Rayvin and Tony met and fell in love in high school on the Central Coast, and their high school FCA leader officiated the ceremony for a very full circle moment! Rayvin and Tony and their people were so emotional as they saw each other for the first time that day, and exchanged personal vows that made us cry too 🥲. From the first kiss forward, the party was on, as these two excitedly celebrated their marriage with all their closest people.

As the sun set over the Paso Robles vineyards, we gathered for toasts and dinner, and then took Rayvin and Tony out for bridals. I love the symmetry that miles of vines offer, and we decided to bring our drone to capture the newlyweds in the midst of this. I love the photographs we got during sunset, but also of the wedding reception in that gorgeous golden hour light. After the sun went down, we headed into Oak + Ivy’s barn for a high energy dance party, before Rayvin and Tony departed for In N Out in Tony’s Suzuki Samurai!
