Springtime Montana de Oro Engagement Session | Grace & Cyrus
What makes Montana de Oro our favorite place for an engagement session on the Central Coast?
It’s easy- Montana de Oro State Park, located just outside of San Luis Obispo, offers tons of different and unique environments to suit just about every couple we talk to. From people wanting a more foresty vibe to the classic, on the beach pictures, MDO has it all. That, combined with the fact that we spend a ton of our free time exploring every nook and cranny of the park, makes for the ultimate tailored experience for our couples.
Grace and Cyrus joined us out at MDO a few weeks ago to celebrate their engagement and take in an absolutely gorgeous golden hour with us. Springtime’s gorgeous colors were so prevalent as we meandered the bluff trail, and the evening wind left our favorite little hidden beach private, making the perfect evening for engagement photos.
Every time we have a session at Montana de Oro (and if you’ve been around here long enough, you’d know we have a TON!), we really try to make each set of photos look unique. It’s no lie this park is probably the most picturesque area in San Luis Obispo County, and there are a boatload of photographers out and about in the park with clients every day. This is a place that challenges us to offer a unique experience tailored to each of our couples’ unique needs. We’ve scoured all kinds of areas around MDO so that it’s like a whole new adventure for each of our couples every time they meet us out here.
We also LOVE playing with the seasons in the park, as it seems to really change with the time of year. From the difference in the warmth of the light to the different flora around its trails, Montana de Oro is truly unique at different times of year, and we aim to have that reflect in our galleries as well.
To top off shooting at our favorite location, we had the honor of spending this beautiful evening with two incredible humans. We are so grateful we get to join them for this exciting season and capture all these memory filled moments for them!
Grace & Cyrus reached out soon after getting engaged, finding us on Instagram and feeling an immediate connection. Our consultation call felt more like four old friends chatting about life than planning a wedding. We got to go deep with them so quickly and by the time the call ended, these two were so excited for us to join their closest friends and family in the celebration that would be their wedding day!
At the beginning of the year, after a super successful booking season in the fall, I prayed that the rest of our 2021 wedding clients would fit with us like this. I prayed so sincerely that every wedding we booked for the rest of this year would feel like we were shooting our best friends’ wedding, and that the connection would be intimate and true from the beginning. To put it simply: God blew us away with these two (and every other couple we’ve been so fortunate to have booked this year!!!!!).
It is so clear how alive God is within these two. Their enthusiasm for life, for each other, to be married, is seriously infectious. Their warm, fun personalities made two hours go by in the blink of an eye, and their maturity as they posture their hearts for marriage has literally made Joseph and I cry more than once. When we say it is an honor to partake in this season of Grace & Cyrus’ life and witness them getting married, we really mean it.
