Montana de Oro Couple Session | Erica & Omar
Before I was a photographer, I could go on an entire rant about how spring and summer were my favorite seasons. Now that I’m a photographer, I would say hands DOWN it would be fall and winter. There is just something so good about the golden tones the sunlight has as it sets for the evening this time of year, and there is truly no better place to watch this magic than Montana de Oro. I was so grateful Erica & Omar asked me to join them on Montana de Oro’s Bluff Trail for a little couple’s photo session last week!
They, of course, had perfect Los Osos weather for their shoot, it is pretty unbeatable this time of year! We recently waved goodbye to that classic coastal fog and warmly welcomed the clear, sunny skies typical during fall and winter in this area. I truly mean it when I say I drool over the sunsets every night during this time of year, and I ALWAYS have FOMO when I am not shooting during them. The warm tones and the way the sun lights up the local landscapes is always a dream, and really contributes to the vintagey mood we aim to create in our photographs!
Erica & Omar, both teachers, celebrated their Thanksgiving week off by coming up to coastal San Luis Obispo county to explore an area they never had before! One trip to the Bluff Trail totally sold them, and they decided they wanted photos of the two of them to commemorate their mini vacation and the favorite spot they found! Erica slid into my DMs and I got the opportunity to meet the two of them and show them around our little town of Osos!
The shoot began with the most gorgeous light coming off the water and one of the best golden hours I’d ever witnessed. We explored all kinds of spots along MDO’s Bluffs and I captured these two’s sweet, gentle love for one another. As you can see, Erica & Omar were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and didn’t cringe too much at the fun little prompts I gave them to really bring out their true personalities!
As the sun neared the horizon, we headed over to one of my favorite backroads in Los Osos for a little blue hour magic! These two were absolute champs, it was absolutely freezing at both locations, but they made it look so good! After the shoot, Erica & Omar headed off to one of our favorite spots in SLO, Luna Red, for a little date night, since they were all dressed up!
