I still remember the giant smile I had on my face when I read Megan & Will’s initial inquiry with us. Their story is the best (read on if you want to hear it), and it was so clear that even through the text on the screen how much these two love each other. I was honored to receive their inquiry, and even more honored to photograph their sweet relationship at Johnson Ranch a few months later.
Megan & Will met at a backyard barbecue when they were both at Cal Poly when Will’s yellow lab, Narnia, caught her eye (my kind of love at first sight!!!). Though nothing came out of that evening, she did go home thinking he was very good looking.
A few months after that evening, the two found themselves at the best bar in SLO, McClintock’s, on the very same evening. When Travis Tritt’s “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” came on, these two promptly reacted like any sane human would when this song comes on, and began belting it at the top of their lungs. Noticing that the only other human in the bar doing the same was each other, Megan & Will naturally gravitated toward one another, hitting every note.
They realized they’d recognized each other from that barbecue a few months back, got each other’s numbers, went on a breakfast date the next morning, and are here two years later so in love.
