A Surprise Proposal at Halter Ranch | Hunter & Stephanie
Nothing screams “Paso Robles Marriage Proposal” more than popping the question while wine tasting at one of our many vineyards.
It’s no wonder why so many of our couples get engaged in vineyards! If you’re planning on taking a vacation on the Central Coast of California, it’s almost necessary to come wine tasting while you’re here. AND if you’re looking for the perfect setting to propose to the love of your life, we HIGHLY recommend doing it at one of our wineries. It really is the perfect setup- you have wine on hand, beautiful views, and some of the best hospitality around!
Hunter and Stephanie were in San Luis Obispo visiting some of her family, and Hunter decided this would be the perfect, yet unexpected opportunity to ask her to marry him after ten years together! He came to us looking for a way to keep this moment a surprise. He and Stephanie had already designed her gorgeous two-stone engagement ring together, using his grandmother’s diamond and a new stone they purchased together. She knew the proposal was coming, but had no idea when (or how the ring looked like in real life). Hunter knew Stephanie wouldn’t expect the proposal to go down while visiting family on the Central Coast, a place they’d been together countless times.
As one does, Hunter and Stephanie decided to spend a day wine tasting while here, and he chose to piggy back off the plans they were making. Stephanie booked a tasting at Halter Ranch Vineyard, a favorite of theirs, and the surprise proposal plan began to unfold. Hunter called the winery and informed them of his plans, and then teamed up with us. After exploring Halter Ranch ourselves, we decided the picturesque covered bridge on the property would be the best place for the proposal to happen.
Fast forward a few weeks, when we all headed up to Paso Robles for the proposal. Joseph and I hid in the barn directly adjacent to the bridge and waited for Hunter and Stephanie to finish their tasting flight and walk down. From the barn, we watched as Hunter and Stephanie took some photos together (to disguise Hunter’s texts to us that it was time), and as he got down on one knee, we ran out of the barn to capture the moment. Stephanie was in absolute shock, both surprised by the proposal and in awe of how beautiful her toi et moi ring looked in real life.
After this Paso Robles proposal went down, we had a mini engagement photoshoot with Hunter and Stephanie to celebrate the moment! Keep scrolling to see Hunter down on one knee, Stephanie’s sweet reaction, and the little collection of photos we shot after they were engaged! Congratulations Hunter & Stephanie, and a BIG thank you for including us in this special moment!!
