Abby & Dave's Coastal Engagement Session
Commemorating the Very Place They Got Engaged!
When it comes to selecting an engagement session location, we always, always, always try to guide our couples to choose a place that has become special or significant to them throughout their relationship. This helps us tell their story honestly (something we are so passionate about!), while also giving them a gallery that has greater significance to them than simply photos on a pretty beach.
Abby & Dave chose Montana de Oro, just outside of San Luis Obispo, for their engagement photos because this was the very place Dave proposed to Abby just a few months before. It had become an incredibly special place to them throughout their relationship, which began four years ago when they began school at Cal Poly.
A coastal retreat full of beaches, towering bluffs, lush dunes, tons of hiking trails, and a majestic eucalyptus forest, it’s no surprise that Cal Poly students (and locals alike) flock to this state park to take in the surroundings and blow off some steam in between classes and study sessions. Over the years, these two made so many memories here, and it became even more special when Dave asked Abby to spend forever with him!
It was such an honor to capture the story of the beginning of their newfound season of engagement, as well as their fun and sweet love for each other! Stay tuned for this summer when we get to witness Abby & Dave marry each other at one of our absolute favorite venues on the Central Coast ;)
Capturing engagement photos that really encapsulate the unique characteristics of a relationship is SO important as a photographer! Rachel and Sumner love movement and laughing together, which lended perfectly to some very cinematic looking frames.
