Twin Oaks Ranch Wedding | Tabitha & Tyler

I’m always a BIG fan of a good ol’ Cal Poly love story.

It very well may be my favorite kind of inquiry to receive- something along the lines of “we met while in college at Cal Poly and want to get married where our relationship began.” Maybe it’s because no Cal Poly wedding could ever be a bad time, or maybe I’m biased in my love of my alma mater, but a Cal Poly wedding is always something we’ll say yes to, and Tabitha & Tyler’s San Luis Obispo villa wedding was no different.

I met Tabitha while we were both at Cal Poly (go Chi O hehe), right around the time that she and Tyler began their relationship too! I remember these two were an absolutely iconic couple, sharing that super special best friend kind of love with each other. It’s really been no surprise for me to see their relationship grow stronger and stronger, weaving their lives together as they’ve built their careers and grown their list of hobbies (like doing Ironmans, no big deal). My heart literally fluttered when Tabitha asked us to photograph their wedding. Every wedding we photograph is an honor to be part of, but there truly is nothing like reconnecting with old friends and witnessing their marriage.

Fast forward to Tabitha & Tyler’s wedding in San Luis Obispo, a true culmination of their relationship thus far, and a heart-felt gathering of the friends they’ve made over the years. Tabitha’s family travelled all the way from New Zealand to witness her marriage to Tyler, and friends from every part of their lives gathered around these two to celebrate them, and help put on their day.

Their day began getting ready in the stunning private villa estate in Santa Margarita, a joy-filled time. Tabitha shared a first look with her father before seeing Tyler for the first time. Guests began to arrive for their picturesque ceremony in the villa’s courtyard, with the rolling hills of San Luis Obispo creating a stunning backdrop. After Tabitha & Tyler said “I do,” they walked down the aisle as guests shot confetti cannons into the air to mark the momentous occasion.

Tabitha & Tyler’s family and friends came far and wide to party, and the reception in the estate’s barn was full of energy. After emotional toasts, we snuck away with the newlyweds to a panoramic hilltop where we watched the sunset and soaked up every ounce of San Luis Obispo wedding day goodness. When we returned to the barn, quite literally every guest was on the dance floor for one of the best wedding DJ sets we’ve ever heard (not making that up) by Modern Symphony DJs. The party literally did not stop until the newlyweds decided it was time to head downtown San Luis Obispo for an after party. Tabitha & Tyler ended their night with an epic sparkler exit, and downtown we all went.
