La Cuesta Ranch Wedding | Hannah & Carson
A love story that started when these two were just fourteen years old,
and has weathered and been strengthened by all the life in those eight years leading up to this moment. This is the very story Hannah and Carson are living out together, and that which began its next chapter on a picturesque July day at San Luis Obispo’s La Cuesta Ranch. Every now and then, we are introduced to young couples like this one and are blown away by their maturity and fortitude as they enter marriage.
It’s couples like these who bring us back to why we love (and photograph) marriage so much. Love, especially the long-term-commitment-kind of love necessary for a thriving marriage, is something I've been fascinated by since I was too young to maybe even understand it in a practical way. As I've grown to understand humanity and our deep brokenness, I've become even more enthralled at the thought of one whole, broken person loving another whole, broken person in spite of their shortcomings. In the trenches of vulnerability, we inevitably arrive at a place of being fully known and fully loved and altogether comfortable around our spouse.
So what you’re about to see as a gallery of beautifully lit and colored photos barely scratches the surface. It's what's below them- the years of fighting for each other, of growing in compassion and understanding, clawing past human selfishness in pursuit of another- that I hope you can see. Hannah and Carson certainly embody these qualities. These two evoke to bright, young, funny, and charming personalities, but as we came to know through their vows (some of the best we’ve ever heard), these are two people who have had to fight for those bright, young, funny, and charming moments through the highs and lows of real life.
Aside from (what I can imagine to be) the challenges of quite literally growing up alongside one another, these two have endured trials that have made them so strong. Their wedding day marked such a significant milestone in their journey, and certainly was one for celebration! As evidenced by the many people there to witness and love on these two, this remarkable couple has had a supportive community in their corner during every moment. It’s an honor to capture a day so significant, especially for two people we’ve grown to love dearly over the course of working together!

Hannah and Tom have spent much of their relationship living in an RV and travelling the country, and so it felt almost natural to have a national park themed wedding in one of their favorite destinations, Arizona.
