A Spring Garden Wedding at Grace Maralyn Estate | Maya & Adam
Are you ready to see the spring garden wedding of my dreams?
And even more, are you ready to scroll through the gallery of one seriously wonderful couple? Buckle in, y’all. One thing I have loved dearly about photographing weddings in San Luis Obispo is learning about all the Cal Poly love stories that occurred at our university. And the best part has been meeting people who I wish I crossed paths with during our shared time at Cal Poly, but didn’t get the opportunity to until now, when we become friends as Joseph and I photograph their wedding.
Maya and Adam are two of those people I am sad to say I didn’t get to meet during my uni years, but am very very grateful to know now. They ended up staying on the Central Coast after they graduated from Cal Poly, so it is only fitting they got married here too! They chose the Grace Maralyn Estate in Atascadero for a number of reasons, the most significant being the fact that this venue is the most ideal space for gathering family and friends for an entire weekend. The house on property can accommodate many guests, and the dedicated ceremony and reception spaces create an intimate feeling perfect for celebrating a marriage with your favorite people. We love this property and were so excited when Maya and Adam shared their vision for their lush spring wedding with us!
Fast forward to their wedding day— The Grace Maralyn is stunning on its own. The garden venue is naturally beautiful, while the rustic barn and reception space add a tasteful sense of Central Coast rustic vibes. When a couple chooses a talented team to elevate the space, it looks even more incredible, and we were so lucky to photograph this venue with tasteful touches of artistic prowess by coordinator Tracey from Heart Melting Events, and of course, our favorite human, Lexi from In Full Bloom.
On top of the space, the bridal party looked incredible. The guys’ grey tuxes complimented the girls’ mismatched floral dresses perfectly. And let’s just take a moment for Maya’s dress. After photographing hundreds of weddings, I have seen hundreds of gorgeous wedding dresses, but none as unique and beautiful as Maya’s BHLDN beaded gown. This dress was stunning on, and gave her lots of ability to dance later on in the evening too ;)
Maya and Adam shared a first look and private vows on the front steps of the property’s house before walking down the aisle and getting married before all of their family and friends, in a ceremony officiated by one of Maya’s parents’ long time friends. To no surprise, Maya and Adam’s people brought the party as their wedding day gave way to evening. We heard touching and hilarious toasts from their parents and closest friends, and then we were into The Grace Maralyn’s barn for dancing. We dodged a rare Central Coast thunderstorm and made it to the venue’s hilltop sunset spot for Maya and Adam’s bridals before calling it a night.
We are so grateful for these two and the way they made us feel like close friends throughout the process of working together! It was an honor to capture this gorgeous day in their life together, we hope you enjoy!!
